What technologies does Cargo*Watch utilize?
Cargo*Watch utilizes AMPS and GSM cellular technology, ultra low power micro-electronics, internet, as well as worldwide GPS.
What's your coverage map look like?
Cargo*Watch provides worldwide coverage using the cellular network and interfacing with major service providers in both AMPS (United States) and GSM, and GPRS (World Wide, including US) technology. We use Iridium Satellite Communications in some of our fleets which offer ~100% World Wide Coverage. Our Commercial Customers include companies such as; JB Hunt, Trans Refrigerated Lines (TRL), HP Hood, Maines, NYK Lines, Evergreen, Container Port Group, Wholefoods Markets, ZIM Lines and many more.
How big is your tracking unit?
Our chassis unit is 8*" X 8" X 3". The trailer, container and genset units are 7" X 6" X 3" and both can all be self installed.
What is your battery life?
The battery option include a rechargeable lead acid battery with a useful life of 5 years and two non-rechargeable battery configurations are available with a minimum life of 5 years.
How long does an installation take?
Installation takes less than 20 minutes for non-rechargeable configurations and 30 minutes for rechargeable chassis configurations.
Do you have mapping capabilities?
Our Website supports a complete suite of mapping functions plus geo-fencing.
How often can my units report their status and location?
Our units are totally configurable. Status reports can be generated as often as every 15 minutes. Our units can be preprogrammed from the factory or remotely programmed while in the field. All time related parameters are programmable from 15 minutes to 90 days.
What about "cellular fallout"?
Our unit has a unique feature that stores messages when cellular communications is not available and transmits these messages when communications is reestablished. Therefore no information is ever lost.
Can I "ping" my units remotely?
Our units can be "pinged" for down loading parameters or initiating a new reporting commands.
