GPS Container Tracking

Statistical highlights of the PAR LMS effort to provide container tracking/GPS via the CargoWatch system for the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) TC '06 deployment are listed below. As shown, the CargoWatch container tracking/GPS system exceeded all expectations in its ability to monitor status, location, and security of assets equipped with the system regardless of where they traveled:

• 168 CargoWatch Container Tracking/GPS security units installed.
• 68 units installed at Camp Darby, Italy - 2/15/2006.
• 100 units installed at Miesau Army Depot, Germany - 2/20/2006.
• PAR LMS patched into DOD ITVS secure data feeds that allowed for constant real-time visibility of installed containers.
• Messages sent/received in European Theater: 17,926.
• Messages sent/received aboard ship: 3,291.
• Messages sent/received CONUS: 20,908.
• Total messages processed: 42,125.
• Security checks processed: 2,306,889.
• 161 containers: Zero false positives reported.
• 9 antennas damaged by container handling equipment.
• 7 door sensors moved by container handling equipment.
