About PAR LMS
Par LMS brings the fusion of protection, safety, reduction, and efficiency, to the transportation sector. In today’s economy winners are defined by their ability to more with less, better. Technology is the distinction between the transportation operators of yesterday, and the new industry leaders of today and tomorrow. Par LMS is that technology.
PAR LMS began the evolution of asset tracking in the intermodal world by developing and deploying the first and only tracking technology for global assets. Before there was a Department of Homeland Security and before the notion of Port Security became a political campaign issue, PAR LMS was already in many of the major seaports around the globe tracking intermodal assets with GPS and the internet. Today LMS brings our extensive experience in tracking technologies to help industry to better hone business practices through decreased consumption of energy and perfected management of assets.
PAR LMS began in 1998 as a joint program between PAR and the US Department of Transportation. The result was the Cargo*Watch tracking system for intermodal and over the road asset management. With 10,000s of units deployed in various intermodal ports, the Cargo*Watch technology has been tested and evaluated around the globe has proven itself as the only reliable GPS based solution that is cost effective solution for much of the transportation industry. Through better visibility, our solutions have yielded real benefits for trailer, chassis, genset, and reefer, management and utilization. Fundamental to our success in global tracking, is the critical understanding that actionable information on asset status and location, must be available, reliable, and most importantly affordable.
Our Commercial Customers include companies such as; RYDER INC. CR England, JB Hunt, Hapag Lloyd, Goldenstate Foods, Martin Brower, Associated Grocers, Trans Refrigerated Lines (TRL), HP Hood, Maines Paper and Food Service INC., NYK Lines, Evergreen, Container Port Group, Wholefoods, ZIM Lines, C&K Trucking, Roman Transport, Port Consolidated Group, Land of Frost, Alliance, Disney, John Curry Transport, Tide Water Express, Helluvagood Cheese and many more.
Our solutions deliverer better business efficiencies, increased asset utilizations, repositioning mitigation, and virtually eliminate asset write offs and manual yard counts of chassis, refers, containers and gensets. Through increased asset visibility and management, The Cargo*Mate® system allows shipping, rail, and lease, companies to decrease their fleet sizes of chassis, gensets, refers, and containers. Mitigation and control of inefficient intermodal assets empowers the industry, streamlines the supply chain, and yields significant benefits to the management of critical seaport real estate. Furthermore, through a layered approach of cargo security and supply chain visibility, our technology helps to protect our boarders and the citizens who live within them.
Post September 11th 2001 the security of America's homeland became a significant and primary concern to all who live and work here in the United States. In recent times the security of US seaports and the intermodal container system as a whole has been under strict scrutiny. The Department of Transportation and the Department of Homeland security worked directly with PAR LMS to develop the Cargo*Watch® system. This system provides protection from the possible threat of a Trojan horse scenario whereby terrorists utilize the intermodal container system as a method of delivery for WMD.
Working from proven tracking technologies for chassis, gensets and port management, PAR LMS developed an entire systems solution that monitors intermodal containers throughout the cycle. The Cargo*Watch® System is designed to track and monitor intermodal containers throughout the supply chain and provide timely, and accurate information on container and cargo status and location.
